Given : P ={a, c, e},

Q= {b, d, f}

To Find :  a) PUQ

b) PnQ

Solution:

P ={a, c, e},

Q= {b, d, f}

a) PUQ

Union of sets P and Q

and contains all the elements of Sets P and Q

as sets are unique so common elements are mentioned once only

P U Q  = { a , b , c , d , e , f }

b) PnQ   is same as P ∩ Q

Intersection of sets P and Q

and contains only common elements in sets P and Q

There is no common element in sets P and Q

Hence PnQ = { }  =  ∅

PnQ is a null set
