(i) If the C.P. of 6 articles is equal to the S.P. of 4 articles, find the gain per
(ii) If the C.P. of 15 chairs be equal to the S.P. of 20 chairs, find the loss per ce​

Let the cost price of one article be Rs.x

Therefore,

Cost price of 6 article =6x

Cost price of 4 articles =4x

Given that the selling price of 4 articles is equal to the cost price of 6 articles.

∴ Selling price of 4 articles =6x

Gain % = selling price−cost price/cost price × 100

∴Gain% = 6x−4x / 4x × 100

⇒Gain % = 2x/4x × 100 = 50%

Hence the gain % is 50%.

let us assume CP of 1 chair = Rs.100

so 15 chairs CP = Rs.1500

when we sell 20 chairs at 1500

each chair cost = 75

so loss = CP - SP

Loss = 100 - 75 = 25

loss % = Loss/cp * 100

25/100 * 100 = 25% loss
