i)If the object lies against the direction of incident light and image lies in the direction of incident light. What will be the sign convention followed for object distance and image distance?
(ii) Draw the ray diagram for a convex mirror when rays are parallel to principal axis and mark angle of incidence and angle of reflection.

(i). Sign convention is a set of rules to set signs for image distance, object distance, focal length, etc for mathematical analysis of image formation. According to it:

Object is always placed to the left of mirror

All distances are measured from the pole of the mirror.

Distances measured in the direction of the incident ray are positive and the distances measured in the direction opposite to that of the incident rays are negative.

Distances measured along y-axis above the principal axis are positive and that measured along y-axis below the principal axis are negative.

(ii). The ray diagram to show the path of the reflected ray corresponding to an incident ray of light parallel to the principal axis of a convex mirror is as follows:

you can see the picture of the diagram above.....

(iii). The law of reflection states that the incident ray, the reflected ray, and the normal to the surface of the mirror all lie in the same plane. The angle of reflection is equal to the angle of incidence

(iv)

  1. The size of the image is the same as the size of the object.
  2. The distance between the image obtained is the same as the distance between the object from the mirror.

Hope this helps you
