Step-by-step explanation:

1) convert (cos²x) to (1- sin²x)

2) proceed to divide with cos ²x in the numerator and denominator

3) convert (sec²x) to (1+ tan ²x)

4)substitute tan x for t

5) the form 1/ x²+a² is obtained which on integration gives 1/a tan -¹(x/a)

make use of that form and substitute tanx back in the place of t
