I jumped out of the bed at midnight. The reason was I heard a blood-curdling scrams in the stillness of the night inside my room! I was scared to death fearing the worst! However, my fear subsided a little when the screams continued even after my waking!

 I felt as if two witches from hell were fighting the fiercest battle under my bed. I could not understand what was happening. I screamed too. My scream stilled the commotion under my bed! Then I saw two cats scurrying out of my room.

I dared and switched on the night lamp. I peeped under my bed. Lying there I found a mangled body of a rat. So the two cats fighting for their prey had scared me to death. I woke my parents up and shared the scary incident with them. My mother swept away the dead rat. After half an hour I fell asleep again.
