I just wanna know d step by step passage of oxygen in our body? Such as it enters from nostrils and then ............and at last it reaches alveolar sac.

The nasal cavity and the mouth meet at the pharynx, or throat, at the back of the nose and mouth. From there, air quickly enters the second part of your respiratory system, the trachea or windpipe. The trachea is a tube that delivers air to the lungs, the third and most important part of your respiratory system.

Gas exchange takes place in the millions of alveoli in the lungs and the capillaries that envelop them. As shown below, inhaled oxygen moves from the alveoli to the blood in the capillaries, and carbon dioxide moves from the blood in the capillaries to the air in the alveoli.

When you breathe in (inhale), air containing oxygen enters your windpipe, passes through the bronchi and eventually reaches the air sacs. These air sacs, called alveoli, are responsible for gas exchange. They look a bit like grapes at the end of the bronchial branches.

There are 3 major parts of the respiratory system: the airway, the lungs, and the muscles of respiration. The airway, which includes the nose, mouth, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, and bronchioles, carries air between the lungs and the body's exterior.
