As evaporation takes place so,this ice cube got converted slowly into gas, As we know that it's a phenomenon in which liquid state change into gas/vapour state at any temp. below its Boiling point,So it slowly got evaporated and hence it melts and u can't able to see it.

You kept an ice cube on your plant, out in sun, but for a long time you didn't see it melt because of the following reasons \leadsto

\bold{\green{\fbox{\green{Reasons are given below}}}}

  • The sun is shining on the ice, some of that solar energy will be absorbed.
  • But the sun emits radiation at other wavelengths which water will absorb, and thus increases its energy gain.
  • If these gains exceed the energy losses, the ice will warm.

The above are the reasons of melting of the ice which is kept on a plant under the Sun for a long time.
