Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Explanation :

Lets assume no. of girls = x and boys = y

y = (x+1) ----------- (i)

As each boy have equal no. of sisters and brothers and he is not included in brothers.

so, 1 is for him in (x+1).

y = 2(x-1) ------ (ii)

as each girl have (x-1) sisters.

By solving eq. (i) and(ii)

girls = 3 and boys = 4

3 sisters, 4 brothers

(x+1)=2(x-1)

Sorry if short. I like answering questions that can be solved mentally.

Edit:

After much prodding, had to include this,

x = number of girls = number of brothers any guy in that family will have

hence, x+1 = number of total guys,

hence, x-1 = number of sisters any girl in the family will have

For any girl in that family,

number of brothers = 2 x number of sisters

Hence, (x+1)=2(x-1)

solving for x, number of girls = 3, number of boys = 4
