I know the raw answer will be
5000(105.75/100)^40 but how am I supposed to raise it to power 40...not a calculator....what if it comes in my exams...need a shortcut or some other method​

In exams they will either give (105.75/100)^40 = 9.3586 and then you must multiply it with 5000 and finish your answer or you must just end the solution there, you need not find the power of 40 because it is not possible without a calculator

So, you can stop there and say that the amount is

5000 × (1.0575)⁴⁰
