Answer:

It's very good that you have some aim fixed for yourselves but I would ask you to go with the flow like other students do. First, clear your 10th with decent score. Choose your subjects whom you love and would like to study further.

Then aim for good marks in your 10+2, get a good college and do your graduation in whatever course you choose.

In between those college years will be the moment for you to think about all of these and if you want to be an IAS officer or not? Whatever be your goal, then only try to go for it and not now!

The reason I say this is because the goal of becoming an IAS officer is surely not of yours and have been fed into you by your environment (parents or media). You maybe considering only perks of IAS but not going into it by the job profile.

Also if you make a fixed goal, you would screw your studies from the beginning thinking that your goal is different than what you're doing and you're better than all of the others nearby you since the position of IAS denotes influence and power (which you know) and also the work for the greater good (which you don't know).

Also the consistent hunger of that goal, desperation would blind you from reality and this would lead you to a depressing life.

UPSC or IAS exam as you may call it, has more than 10 lakh aspirants sitting for it every year and out of those only the top 100 ranks get the reputable IAS services. That is already so tough and when you count the reservation with the point that sometimes people from IPS and other allied services also give this exam to get IAS, you can understand that how near impossible is it to crack this.

That's why I would suggest you to consider making short goals rather than far long goals and work on achieving them first. Also I would like to advise you to make a base at every step you're before hopping to the next one. For example, getting an employable bachelor's degree or a job before you attempt UPSC. Trust me this would help!
