A molecule is an electrically neutral group of two or more atoms held together by chemical bonds. Molecules are distinguished from ions by their lack of electrical charge.
Hope it helped!!

Molecules as a simple definition are set of  two, three, four, etc. no. of atoms in a fixed proportion.

For Example - Water is a compound constructed out of atoms and molecules.     It's molecular formula is - H20.

This means that, each molecule of water is formed by 2 atoms of Hydrogen and 1 atom of Oxygen.

Put this in mind that these atoms are joined together in a fixed ratio by mass.

i.e, Hydrogen has a mass of 1u. Since there are 2 Hydrogen atoms, so

Mass of Hydrogen = 2u

Now, Oxygen has a mass of 16u. So

Mass of Oxygen = 16u

Therefore, Molecular mass of water molecule or H2O = 18u

Also, these atoms combine in ratio 2:16 = 1:8.

A molecule is electrically neutral because the atoms or ions(electrically charged atoms) share their charges to form a neutral substance.

For Example - We again take water molecule H20 as an example.

The Hydrogen atom has a positive valency of 1.

And, Oxygen atom has a negative valency of 2.

So, by the criss-cross method when they combine, they a form a neutral substance, known as the Water molecule or H2O.

This can be written as-

   H+     ⇄        O2-

   which forms, H2O.

I hope I was able to make you understand about your question.

Thank you...
