Find the radius:

Radius = Diameter ÷ 2

Radius = 8 ÷ 2 = 4 m

Find the volume of the earth dug out:

Volume = πr²h

Volume = π(4)²(14) = 224π m³

Define x:

Let the height be h

Find the inner volume:

Volume = πr²h

Volume = π(4)²h = 16hπ m³

Find the out volume:

Volume = πr²h

Volume = π(4+3)²h = 49hπ m³

Solve h:

49hπ - 16hπ = 224π

33hπ = 224π

h = 224π ÷ 33π

h = 6.79 m

Answer: The height is 6.79 m
