I looked out the window that morning, through the transparent glass, all I could see was snow. From where I stood, I couldn't touch the falling snow flakes, I couldn't feel the cool breeze on my skin or hear the crunching sounds of footsteps but I longed to be out there.
I imagined how it would feel to be out there, in the open.

My heart skipped a beat as I saw her, Anastasia, she was running too fast. She was wearing her warm clothes. She was so beautiful, with her pigtails and sippy cup that she carried around everywhere.

She waved at me and gestured me to come out, when I mouthed, "I’ll be out in a minute". As I turned around, I heard a loud crashing noise. I screamed loudly, as I saw people gathering around my daughter lying still, unconscious.

I banged on the windows to let me out, when the nurse came up to me and grabbed me. She injected me with something as my tears fell.

"Why was she screaming?", asked the girl sitting on a bed across from mine. The old woman beside her answered, "she's having hallucinations again, she lost her daughter in a car accident a year ago.".

I looked out of the window that morning. It was raining lightly. I stuck my hand out and let the drizzle fall on my hand. The cool drops on my warm palms had a soothing effect. In order to have more fun, I went out and began enjoying the rain.

Soon I got completely drenched. As I opened the door to get in, a beautiful pigeon fell on the roof from the sky. I immediately ran to it and picked it up. I took it inside. I dried it and kept it in my room on a dry towel. I fed it fruits, vegetables, cereals, etc. The pigeon grew quite friendly to me. Within a few days it got well. It began to fly in my room.

One day I took it out and threw it in the air. It flew round me a few times and then went away. Next morning I heard the cooing of a pigeon; as I looked out of the window, I found my friend pigeon sitting on the balustrade. I opened the window; it hopped into the room and perched on my palm. I stroked its head and feathers. After some time I again let it go.

Every day the pigeon would come to meet me for a few months; then suddenly it stopped coming. Either it must have died or flown to some distant land. I miss my pigeon friend.
