I, m and n are parallel lines intersected by the
transversal p at X, Y and Z respectively. Find the
measures of angle 1, angle 2 and angle 3. Give reasons.

From equation (1)&(2) , we get

Angle 1 = angle 2 =angle 3. ........(3)

(180° - angle 1 )= 40 ° ( corresponding angles )

=> Angle 1 = (180 - 40 )°=140°

Therefore, angle 1 = 140° = angle 2 = angle 3 ( from 3 )
