I'm going to be in DC next week and I want to go see the original Declaration of Independence. Where is that? Can the public see it? Does it cost anything to visit? What days and hours is it open? Make sure you give me links to the official site of the institution where you find the above information.

The declaration of independence is one of the greatest significant documents in the history of the United States. It was an official act taken by all 13 American colonies in the declaration of independence from British rule.

Reservation and tourism

Reservation is not required to visit the National Archives Museum. However, during the tourist season (March through Labor Day) and holiday season such as Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Week, advance reservation is highly recommended. Reservation allows visitors to avoid long wait to enter the building.

Time entry reservation

• Self-directed time-entry reservation starts at 10:30 every 15 minutes and continues till 90 minutes before the daily closing.

• The person can reserve up to 20 spaces.

• Groups can reserve up to 100 spaces for a timed entry (note - since only 55 vacancies are available for each interval, any order over 50 spaces can cross multiple intervals).

• The service fee for online reservation is $ 1.50 per person; Entry at all National Archives Museum Exhibition is free.

• Time-entry reservation holders use the general public entrance of the museum near the 9th Street and the Constitution Avenue, NW corner.
