I'm gonna need at least 3 points of difference between distance and displacement.

Three differences are:

(i) Distance is the length of the actual path taken by a particle while displacement is the length of the shortest path between the initial and final position of the object.
(ii) Distance is a scalar quantity while displacement is a vector quantity.
(iii) Distance can never be negative but displacement can be negative.

Distance                                                       Displacement

Distance is the measurement            Displacement is the shortest distance
of total area covered                          covered by the object
by an object.

It is a scalar quantity.                           It is a vector quantity.

Distance = speed/time                         Displacement = velocity*time

It is denoted by d.                                It is denoted by s.

bakshibunny: Thank you. :-)
bakshibunny: I like how you've written it.
