Go at once and learn the IUPAC names of the compounds in Chemistry. It is simple and what you need is just INTEREST and CONCENTRATION.

First of all, learn the functional groups, like:
Br stands for Bromo
Cl stands for Chloro
OH stands for -ol (Alcohol), eg. Methan-ol
CHO stands for -al (Aldehyde), eg. Methan-al
COOH stands for -oic acid (Carboxylic acid), eg. Methan-oic acid
