Step 1 : Read the sentence carefully and identify in which form it is.

( By form I mean- Affirmative or Negative )

Step 2 : If the sentence is affirmative, your question tag will always be negative.

If the sentence is negative, your question tag will always be positive.

For example :-

1. Rashi isn't the class monitor, ________ ?

[ Here, the sentence is in negative form, hence your question tag will be positive. ]

→ Rashi isn't the class monitor, is she?

2. Joseph was wandering in the park yesterday, _____ ?

[ Here, the sentence is affirmative, hence your question tag will be negative. ]

→ Joseph was wandering in the park yesterday, wasn't he?

Exceptions :-

1. Let's go the party, shall we?

Well, that's exactly why it is called an exception.

Whenever a sentence begins with 'Lets ___' the Question Tag will always be 'shall we?'
