I’m thinking of two numbers, one of them is 12. Both these numbers have a greatest common factor of 6 and least common multiple is 36. What is the other number I’m thinking of? pls explain with steps will mark as brainliest !

EXPLAINATION:

Product of two numbers and product of their GCF and LCM is always equal.

As GCF is  6  and LCM is  36

, and one number is  12.

other number is, 6×36÷12=6×3=18

ANSWER

One no. is 12

HCF is 6

LCM is 36

Let the Other no. be x

Solution:

HCF* LCM = Product of the 2 no.s

6*36 = 12*x

216 = 12x

x = 216/12

x = 18

ANS. THE OTHER NO. IS 18.
