Given :

  • Length of mirror = 20cm
  • Breadth of mirror = 15cm
  • Width of the frame = 2cm

To find :

  • The area of the frame.
  • The cost of framing at the rate of 15cm.

Solution :

First finding the Area of the mirror.

★Area of mirror = length × breadth

Area (mirror) = 20 × 15

Area (mirror) = 300 cm²

___________

Now, Area of mirror including the frame.

So,

  • Length of mirror including the frame : 20 + 4 = 24 cm.
  • Breadth of mirror including the frame : 15 + 4 = 19 cm.

Area of mirror including the frame

= 24 × 19

= 456 cm²

Now,

•Area of frame=Area of mirror including the frame -Area of mirror

Area of frame = 456 - 300

Area of frame = 156 cm²

So,

Cost of framing at ₹15 per cm.

Cost of framing 156 cm² :

⟼ ₹(156 × 15)

⟼ ₹2340

Therefore,

  1. Area of Frame required is 156 cm²
  2. Cost of framing is ₹2340

Answer:

Area of the required frame= 66cm².

Cost of Framing= Rs990.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Dimensions of mirror= 20cm and 15cm

So, area= (20×15)cm²= 300cm²

New Dimensions= [(20-2)cm and (15-2)cm]

Therefore, New area= (18×13)cm²= 234cm²

Now, Area of Frame=Area of full mirror-Area of new mirror formed

Area of Frame= (300-234)cm²= 66cm².

Therefore, Cost of framing= Rate of framing×Area

Cost= Rs15×66cm²= Rs990

So, the area of Frame is 234cm² and the cost of framing it is Rs990.

Hope you get this!!
