A good one is your own version of
Michelson Interferometer.

Just for info:
Currently, the largest interferometer is at the LIGO (Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory) , which detected Gravitational waves for the first time.

I had made an investigatory project back in 11th, and my topic was : Impact of discovery of Gravitational Waves on Science and People

You can do this topic, but you will then need to carefully think of its content. It's more theoretical than practical.

But it's fun to do it.

sambi: oh u have the project ??
QGP: Yeah, I have it. What I actually wrote about was how gravitational waves and their properties can be used in identification of Gamma Ray Bursts, Binary Black Hole Systems, Neutron Stars.
QGP: I had also included an idea: Gravitational propagate by stretching space time in one direction and compressing it in other direction. So, if we used a light wave to measure an electron, and then transmitted a GW which stretched space-time in direction of polarisation of light, then we might be able to measure things greater than actual resolution. This way, I thought we could break Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle.
QGP: But it turned out that I was wrong. It was just a misconception
QGP: Anyways, about the project, I would say that it's a lot better to do it yourself. That way, you will have to spend hours reading about stuff related to your project, and to gain a deeper understanding of that thing. And that is all the more important than the Project itself
QGP: So, I would be advising you to do it yourself. If you are smart, you might just as well finish it within a few days.
