The family may be defined as a basic fundamental, and the smallest social grouping, the members of which are united by bonds of kindship.
The family as a social unit is universal; there is not a single society in this universe where family and marriage are absent. The members of a family accept the co-operative division of labor, and they share a common shelter, a common purse, Family is an important unit of society. It holds great importance in social life. It is the strongest unit of society. A society is made up of families.
A family is the first school in which a child receives the basic values of life. He learns good manners in the family. The morals and values learnt in family become our guiding force. They make our character. They lay the foundation of our thinking. I feel fortunate to be born in a family where values are inculcated in early childhood.
There are six members in my family. They are our parents, grandparents, I and my younger sister. Our grandfather is the head of the family. He enjoys a commanding position. His decision is final in family matters. Nobody can dare to go against him. Everybody respects him. He is the guardian of the family. He is a cool and considerate man. He is just and fair. His decision is never influenced by any other. He is a retired teacher. He helps us in our study. Our grandmother makes us hear good stories.
My father is a police officer. He is a great disciplinarian. He is sincere and hardworking. He always goes to office in time. My mother is a simple housewife. She is a postgraduate in English. She is soft-natured and caring. She takes great care of us. She does not care for her comfort for us. She looks after our grandparents. She helps the poor and the needy. She is religious and God-fearing.

Family is a thing which everyone loves to have , we can share our joys , sorrows with them , we will learn many things in our childhood because of our family and will become well civilized human beings and whatever we am now is because of our family because they will teach us good values , correct our mistakes etc
In family we can share of problems , ask help , help each other when thy are in need etc , family is the one who will help us in our need , my family consists of my mother , father , brother and a sister and we all live together happily and everyone in our home are co operative and there is no misunderstanding between us and we live happily , enjoying everyday sharing things whatever have happened on that day , playing etc
we follow the principle called ''Sharing is Caring'' we share things every time , we also share our work in our home in order to reduce the burden on a person as the work is shared . We do our jobs in a very good way and we have a very good co-cooperation and we are very honest in terms of our work and whole family is one i.e there is no fight between us
Without family its difficult to be happy as there will be no one to share our feelings , of course we will have friends but we cannot share everything with them , we need our family to share some of our personal things or problems etc , we share all our problems with our family and get it solved .
