Answer:

In today’s world there is an increasing debate discussing whether people in jail should be made to do community work or not. Under a personal perspective I am partially agree. The arguments to support this opinion are that a person who committed a minor crime should do community work in order to process a rehabilitation. However, major offenders should receive indoor rehabilitation and must be treated before any outdoor exposure. Below, the following essay will demonstrate my position on this matter for minor offenders and major criminals.

Firstly, a person who committed minor crimes should do community work. Numerous individuals around the world commit crime due to sensible reasons. Sometimes, minor offenders do not have any previous criminal record. As a result, law institutions should treat them differently to major offenders considering that the objective should be to maintain peace in the society, and not to punish people. Community work such as cleaning streets, planting trees, and working for charity is an effective method to reinforce values in a minor offender. The lack of this useful technique means the minor offender would be associate it with hard-core criminals. The outcomes of a negative relationship in jail would reintegrate a damage person in the society. A recent study made by the University of British Columbia in January 2010 and recently broadcasted by BBC news found that well above 70% of minor offenders who did not do unpaid community activities were more likely to display negative opinions about criminal justice, which is a crucial highlight for potential reoffenders.

Secondly, A major offender should receive rehabilitation inside jail’s ground and must be treated. Since the purpose of criminal justice is to maintain peace among the individuals, it should be strongly considered the type of criminal before thinking about rehabilitation for society reintegration. Following this further, major crimes such as murder, kidnapping, terrorism, human trafficking, child abuse or false imprisonment should be carefully put aside in jail’s ground. Humans who committed those crimes tend to have strong arguments about what is good or wrong. An instance where a minor offender who has problems with his wife is doing community work next to a serial killer, could have extreme negative outcomes. To illustrate this point, a world-famous serial killer like Ted Bundy could involve a person lost in his eloquence, charisma, and smart character.

To conclude with a human perspective. Unfortunately, we are all different. Unpaid community work should have the limited participation of minor offenders. A person who was found guilty of pick pocketing next to a drug trafficker is more likely to commit a major offense. However, individuals with minor crimes and the appropriate rehabilitation could stay away from unlawful activities and become in a new valuable piece for the society.

Hope it helps :)

Answer:

Some people think certain prisoners should be made to do unpaid community work instead of being put behind bars. To what extent do you agree?

Explanation:

according to some people capital punishment is not required for the minor offenders, instead they should be given an opportunity to perform a social work. I strongly  disagree with this point of view.in my perspective, punishment is needed to maintain the law and order in society.

To begin with, many societies are suffering due to  the poor law and order sitauion. the dwellers of the societies did not feel safe at all. for instance, some huge and crowded cities are under the threat of terrorisms. if legal authorities will not punish those criminals who commit minor crimes like shoplifting or pickpocketing, it will encourage them to go for big adventure. Besides, a strict action can control the minor offenses as well. to illustrate it, if a traffic police would keep a strict eye on the offenders who breaks traffic law by issuing fines then it will help to decrease the traffic violation.

Concerning, if minor crime offender would not have any fear of prison they can impact on the others by boosting their courage of having thrilling activities. to make it clear, teenagers does not understand the dangers of following wrong footprints .Moreover, it will not only create a detrimental society but also a stigma of fear and terror for other societies. although, a charity work is a noble cause, however, it can eliminate the animal instincts from low mentality prisoners'. such as a corporal punishment is favorable for severe offenders or even a capital punishment also recommended.

In conclusion, to main a balanced society with proper law and order punishment's is the only way to keep it. any criminal must face and pay for his/her wrong action. justice is the main key for safe country or society, if any society fail to do this , then we can not guarantee a fair and peaceful environment to live in.
