Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar popularly known as Baba Saheb was an Indian jurist and social reformer who inspired the Dalit Buddhist movement and campaign among social discrimination among untouchables while also supporting the right of women and labours. He was independent India's first law minister the principal architect of constitution of India and a founding father of republic of India. he was born on 15 August 1947 and died on September 1951. He got Bharat Ratna award in 1990. He led millions of oppressed people to a life of self respect and dignity. Born into a poor, untouchable family he had to sit in the corner of the classroom on a mat away from the desk of the other people. He went to Columbia university and it was here that he experienced freedom and equality. He raised that education was the only way to the Chief Justice. He said 'justice will not be granted by others the sufferers must secure justice for themselves.' He founded a Marathi newspaper mooknayak (leader of the dump) to champion for the rights of the 'untouchables' he founded the Bahiskrit Hitakarini Sabha and set up hostels, schools and free libraries to promote education and socio-economic upliftment of dalits. he is known as the architect of India's constitution.
