Hi friends. . ....
it's ur answer ...
If there is anything that makes every one of us, including the teachers, happy and gay, it is the annual day celebrations in one’s school. No matter how many years we have celebrated so far, each occasion would go down memory lane!
Normally held during mid-February evenings when the climate is cool is an added factor for our joy. Wearing colorful dresses and feeling fresh, we feel elated and wished the time stood still.
There is a big ground and an auditorium where it is usually held. This year also, it started exactly at 6.00 p.m. as announced. First, our vice-principal welcomed the gathering. Next our principal gave a brief speech.
She expressed her happiness saying that the school is continually improving in all aspects, however, advised the children to read more and more and not to waste time on watching TV.
Then our correspondent read the annual report. It indeed bored us, though we knew the importance of it. After he finished reading, the prize distributing ceremony began. It was Mr. V.K.Gupta, IAS, district collector, the chief guest who presided over the function and gave away the prizes to the children who had won in the different competitions held before.
I too got four prizes of which, one for my neatly pressed uniforms and well polished shoes with which I attended the school throughout the year!
Thereafter the chief guest gave a speech, recalling his school days and how he faked sickness and took leave to avoid mathematics! He said school life has no parallel and urged us to maintain cordial relationship with all. His frank and amusing speech delighted us all. Finally, he briefed about some good habits and excused himself.
At 7.00 p.m. began the dance and drama. Tiny tots from kindergarten classes put up different plays like teacher and students, road safety, part of Ramayana and Mahabharata, Gandhian thoughts and many. Of all these, there was one short, humorous play by a couple of Std. II boy and girl that was very interesting.
The boy enacted the role of a tiger and the girl, a bunny! The tiger wanted to eat up die bunny. But every time die crafty bunny fools the mighty tiger and escapes. The theme, the script, their body language – all these were hilarious!
At 8.30 p.m. the function ended with a vote of thanks. We all stood up when die national anthem played and then left. Thus went on our annual day, much to the delight of all. However, every annual day is unique and would last long in the memory, as long as my memory lasts!
I hope it helps you.....

The most awaited function for any student is the School Annual Day Function. Our School Annual Day celebrations are scheduled to happen next week and we are on fully fledged preparations of the same.
I am so delighted about the celebration because our head mistress has given me a great responsibility. She has advised me to co-ordinate the programs and participants one by one. With this great task in one hand I am also singing for a classical performance my friend is going to dance for.
Since we have a Scientist as a chief guest for our School Annual Day Function we are decorating all the classes with Science displays and projects that our students did till this year. It was a great sight to see the exhibit and that also became an important part of our function. Many students came forward to do new projects and display in the exhibit.
The main stage of our school is decorated so wonderfully and it is lights and flowers everywhere. All our staff together is planning to perform a mime on “Child labor and its impacts in Society”. Special dinner and snacks are ordered the function and student volunteers’ team is organized to distribute food to everyone on the great day.
Students are busy with regular practice session of the cultural programs and rehearsals were conducted every day after school hours. Teachers are also excited since we have planned a surprise program for them. One another delightful moment for many students is the prize distribution session and musical chair which is planned to be held at the end of the function.
