This leisure was enabled by entertainment.
The entertainment industry too, earlier, was a largely unorganized sector that lacked the security of employment or of finance. But it was later organized, thus people in the entertainment industry also have the means to have a decent lifestyle.
The bottom line remains that it is important to have a balance in life in all aspects. If one is working hard, they also deserve to have means of enjoyment. Entertainment provides just that. Moreover, most forms of entertainment are also a reflection of the larger society that they are a part of. Thus, access to entertainment also makes us aware human beings.
