Not everyone is perfect in every sense and we should respect everyone with whatever they have. Not everyone can afford everything in life and situations can be hard for someone and also we shouldn't judge anyone by their appearance. No one is less or more just because some have more facilities and others don't. This was not my thinking a few months ago but an incident made me change my way of thinking.
A few months ago I went with my mom to buy vegetables from the local farmers market where my mom was selecting the vegetables and I was standing at some distance from her. As she was done choosing the veggies and was paying for them, a man came to her and asked her for giving him some money to which my mom refused but that man didn't move from the place and started begging her to provide him with some money. Mom kept on ignoring him and when she got irritated she kind of yelled at him for disturbing her even when she refused, to that the man started moving in my direction, at first thought that he would come to me to get money but instead he passed by me murmuring how some people think so highly of them and couldn't even give a few bills to someone who needs it what if that person is really in need. He even said something like how these people are ready to spend a handful of money on eating in the diners but giving a few bills to a poor seems too much to them.
This somewhere hurt me and after the man was at a distance from me I started following him to see why he needed money. I got to know that the man needed the money to buy his kid an ice cream and that day he didn't get any work to spend on his child. I couldn't stop myself from apologising to the man and I also handed him a hundred rupees bill which he took with teary eyes.
I returned to where my mom was and on my way home asked her why didn't she give money to the money. She said that such persons are not reliable and God knows for what they need money, and if they are in such need why don't they work and earn something and she was continuously using the word poor which I couldn't bear and explained her everything I was thinking and also about the man. At this, she became a bit sad and along with me she also decided that she won't turn anyone asking for money away because we don't always know for what they need money. And a few bills from our pockets won't cause a hole in our pockets but can prove to be very helpful for them.
