Chief Seattle's speech tries to express the concerns of the native Americans who are sometimes referred to as the Red Indians who are seduced by the the American Government's land treaty. Seattle portrays the imperialist trend that the Government wants to use to acquire land. Seattle's powerful speech portrays nationalism as he advocates for native Americans rights and freedoms. On the other hand I know why the caged bird sings portrays how racism had taken root especially in Arkansas where Maya is depressed from the way the whites treated them.
