• b) Write 2 points of difference between eukaryotic cells and prokaryotic cells.
• c) What happens to a raisin when kept in water. What is such a solution known as?

Answers:

a) Lysosomes contains many hydrolytic enzymes which causes destruction of its own cell in which it is present.

b) Two points of difference between eukaryotic cells and prokaryotic cells is as follows :-

Eukaryotic cells :-

• It's multicellular.
• Nucleus is present.

Prokaryotic cells :-

• It's unicellular.
• Nucleus is absent.

c) When raisins are kept in water, after few hours a phenomena called endomosis occurs where the water molecules pāss the cell membrane of the raisins and raisins gets swallowed.

C. Distinguish between speed and velocity (2 points.)

Speed :-

• It's a scalar quantity.
• It is just a rate of time of a body moving apong a path.

Velocity :-

• It's a vector quantity.
• It's includes the direction along with speed of a moving body.
