velocity form a displacement time graph can be calculated by taking its slope

i) time interval 0 to 5 sec

slope = 3-0/5-0 = 0.6 m/s

ii) 5 to 7 sec

since there is no displacement for the body hence velocity is zero because

velocity = displacement / time

and also the slope is zero and zero slope means zero velocity

iii) 7 to 9 sec

slope = 7-3/ 9 -7 = 2m/s

now average velocity =displacement / time interval

since displacement in the time interval 5 to 9 sec is (7-3 = 4 m)

hence average velocity = 7-3 / 9-5 = 4/4 =1 m/s
