Question:

To Find Angle 2

Given:

  • ∠ UVR = 120

  • ∠T = 50

To Find:

Angle U (∠2)

Figure :

Refer to Attachment

Property Used:

  • Linear Pair

  • Angle Sum Property

  • Exterior Angle Property

Solution:

Finding Angle 1 :

∠ UVR + ∠1 = 180° ( Linear Pair )

120 + ∠1  = 180°

∠1 = 180 -120

∠1 = 60°

Finding Angle 2 :

∠1 + ∠2 + ∠T = 180° ( Angle Sum Property )

60 + ∠2 + 50 = 180°

110 + ∠2 = 180°

∠2 = 180 - 110

∠2 = 70°

Therefore ∠2 ( ∠ TUV ) = 70°

Finding Angle 2 ( Directly ) :

∠ UVR = ∠2 + ∠V ( Exterior Angle Property )

120° = ∠2 + 50°

120 -50 = ∠2

∠2 = 70°

Answer:

Therefore ∠2 ( ∠ TUV ) = 70°
