Step-by-step explanation:

given that one side of a box is 12cm and radius of the circle is 3 cm which means diameter of each circle is 6cm and the sum of diameters of the two circle will give the length of other side of the box so the measure of other side box is also 12cm because diameter of each circle is 6cm and sum of those diameters 6+6 =12cm

now as we know both side of the box is 12cm. we also know that square has 4 equal side this means that the box is in square share

we know that area of square= a*a where a is length of a side

so area of box =12*12=144 sq.cm

as we need only the shaded region area we need ro remove the area of two identical circles from the box area

we know area of a circle is πr^2

so here they are identical we can just find the area of one circle and we can multiply with 2

so area of both the circles is =2*3.14*3*3=56.52sq.cm

so the measure of shaded area is =144-56.52=87.48 sq.cm

i hope you understood dude:)
