Government has appointed former chairman of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Vineet Joshi, as the first Director-General (DG) of the  National Testing Agency (NTA). He will have tenure of five years. He is 1992-batch IAS officer of the Manipur cadre. Prior to this appointment, he was resident commissioner of Manipur government. During his stint as CBSE chairman, he had introduced big changes such as Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) and making Class X board examination optional.
Ministry of Communications announced that the Smart India Hackathon 2018 – Software edition Grand Finale is scheduled to be held on March 30-31, 2018 in Panipat.Smart India Hackathon 2018 was launched on Oct 16, 2017, in Pune to harnesses creativity and expertise of students.It would be the 2nd hackathon initiative in India following Smart India Hackathon 2017.

The government has extended the facility of hiring workers on fixed-term employment to all sectors for improving the ease of doing business for companies.This facility was available only to the apparel manufacturing sector as per the Industrial Establishment (Standing Order) 1946.The fixed term employment was defined as a workman who is employed on a contract basis for a fixed period.

Hetero Healthcare Ltd. said it had launched generic anti-retroviral fixed-dose combination of ‘Emtricitabine & Tenofovir Alafenamide in India.The medication is indicated in combination with other anti-retroviral agents for the treatment of HIV-1 infection in adults and pediatric patients 12 years of age & older.
