In right angled triangle ABC

AB= 18 cm

AC = 24 cm

By using Pythagoras theorem

Hypotenuse² = Perpendicular²+Base²

(BC)² = (AC)²+(AB)²

(x)²=(24)²+(18)²

x²=576+324

x²=900

x²=30²

x=30cm (square is cut off by square)

Thus the BC is 30cm.
