i) Given that Q cost = P or Cos t = P/Q

To find out:

tan t - cot t =tan t -\frac{1}{tant}

= \frac{tan^2 t -1}{tan t} </p><p>= \frac{sec^2 t -2}{\sqrt{Sec^2 t -1} }

(Since 1+tan square t = sec square t)

=\frac{\frac{Q^2}{P^2}-2 }{\sqrt{\frac{Q^2}{P^2} -1</p><p>} } </p><p>=\frac{Q^2-2P^2}{P\sqrt{Q^2-P^2} }

c) Let us replace sec t = 1/cost and tant = sint / cost

The given term becomes

\frac{\frac{1-sin t}{cost} }{\frac{1+sint}{cost} } = \frac{1-sint}{1+sint} =\frac{3}{4}

Simplify to get 4-4sin t= 1 +sint

Or sin t = \frac{3}{5}
