The twins are lovely and delightful boys of Mr. Otis, the American Minister. They are usually called ' The Star and Stripes'.
They are not afraid of the ghost, rather they make fun of him. Once when the ghost reaches the top of the staircase, they throw pillow at him. The ghost grows panicky and disappers. On one occaaion, they see the ghost sitting in the high backed chair, they shoot two pellets on him from their pea-shooters.
They love their sister Virginia very much.
