Hey mate,
(a) An echo is the repetition of the original sound heard after the sound is reflected from a distant, dense and rigid object.
the speed of sound in air is 340m/s and the minimum time required for formation of echo is 0.1 second.
So, distance travelled in 0.1 sec. = 340×0.1 = 34m
As the echo is twice the minimum distance between a source of sound and the reflecting surface = 34÷2 = 17m
the minimum distance is 17m.
21.(b) It is easier to swim in sea water than in river water because the salt present in sea water makes it more denser than river water and our body floats more higher in sea water and Hence, it is more easier to swim in sea water.
22. It is used to stirr the mixture of ice and water. it is also used to check the distribution of heat that is supplied.
