Answer:

1.   35Cl = 0.7577 and Molar mass = 34.9689

     37Cl = 0.2423 and Molar mass = 36.9659

     ∴ Average Atomic mass = (0.7577x34.9689)amu + (0.2423x36.9659)

                                             = 26.4959 + 8.9568 = 35.4527

2.   The mass of a single atom of Carbon 12 is simply the mass of a mole of the       stuff (12 grams) divided by Avogadro's number (6.022 x ). That works out       to 1.9927 grams.

3.   (i) a unit of mass used to express atomic and molecular weights, equal to           one twelfth of the mass of an atom of carbon-12.

     (ii) The mole is the unit of measurement for amount of substance in the             International System of Units.

4.   Avogadro's Constant = 6.02214086 × 10^23 mol^-1

     The symbol is NA.

5.   (i) molar mass of h20= 1*2+16

          => 2+16=18amu

     (ii) The molecular mass of carbon dioxide, CO2

           = (1 × Atomic mass of carbon) + (2 × Atomic mass of oxygen)

           = [1(12.011 u) + 2 (16.00 u)]

           = 12.011 u + 32.00 u

           = 44.01 u
