Let the numerator be x.
Therefore, denominator = x +3.


It is given that If 5 is added to both then it will become 4/5.

So,

          x + 5              4
=>  --------------   =    ---
         x + 3 + 5         5

       Using cross multiplication,

5 (x+5) = 4 (x+8)
5x + 25 = 4x + 32
5x - 4x = 32 - 25
x = 7.

And, x +3 = 10.

Hence, the required fraction is 7/10.
