The well is in the shape of a cylinder.
R = 10/2 = 5 m ,   height = h = 14m
The volume of Earth dug out =
π R² h = pi 5² 14 = 350 π m³

See the diagram.
Embankment is the solid wall like structure built around a well or river or lake.

The surface area over which dug Earth is spread out
    =
π (10² - 5²) = 75π m³

Then the height of the embankment = 350
π /  75 π = 14/3 m

abhi178: great explanation sir !!!!
kvnmurty: the inquirer wanted to know what embankment is .. this answer was not clear .. so i added the pics to clarify
kvnmurty: click on the thanks button above pls
abhi178: hmmm now ,totally clear .
rakshankmr: sir...what is the shape of the embankment?
kvnmurty: like a hollow cylinder. cylindrical pipe. inner radius here is 5m .. outer radius is 10m... so the width of the embankment is 5m.. all around it.. i thought adding two pictures makes it clear.
kvnmurty: @abhi says it is clear. why are you not able to understand that?
rakshankmr: ohk...thanks sir...i was this its embankment is something like a hemisphere or cone.
rakshankmr: thinking** not this its
rakshankmr: I searched embankment images showed shapes like cone....
