Answer: Let diagonals of the rhombus be x and y respectively .

Then original area of the rhombus = xy / 2

New diagonals = 2x and 2y respectively .

New Area = 2x * 2y / 2

                 = 4xy / 2

Therefore New Area is 4 times larger than the original area .
