covalent bonding means nothing but just sharing of electrons so if I take a hydrogen atom which have a single electron in a k shell and need one more electron electron to complete its Oct 8 and form a noble gas configuration it combines with another hydrogen atom and thereby bhai the noble gas configuration of helium is formed this is of covalent bonding in hydrogen moving for the covalent bonding in oxygen it has 6 electron in its outermost shell and hence need to more electrons to attain noble gas configuration of neon it combines with another oxygen molecule and thereby O2 molecule is formed the next is nitrogen atom its triple Bond with another nitrogen atom to form n2 molecule by chemical combination of two nitrogen atoms
