1. Heterotrophic Nutrition: The mode of nutrition in which an organism cannot produce its own food and is dependant on external organic substance for obtaining energy is heterotrophic mode of nutrition.
2. Parasite: A Parasite is an organism which lives in or on an external body (host body) and derives its nutrition from the latter. Eg. Leech
3. Saprophyte: A Saprophyte is an organism which lives on dead or decaying matter. Eg. Fungi
4. Insectivorous Plant: A carnivorous plant which feeds on insects to derive its nutrition.
5. Symbiotic Relationship: A close and long term interaction between two biological species. Eg. Lichens (a symbiosis between Fungi and Blue Green Algae)
