Required Answer:-

1) The male and female reproductive cells called gametes fuse to form a single cell called zygote.

Extra:

  • Gametes are haploid cells i.e. there is only one set of chromosomes. They fuse to form diploid zygotic cell.

  • Male gamete is known as sperm and female gamete is known as egg/ovum in humans.

2) Spores are microscopic single-celled or several-celled reproductive bodies that are mostly spherical in shape.

Extra:

  • The Fungis and Bryophytes generally reproduce by spore formation.

  • It is process of asexual reproduction. The spores are packed inside sacs called Sporangia.

  • When Sporangia burst; minute single-celled, thin or thick walled structures called spores are obtained. Under suitable conditions, they develop into a new Plant.
