Questión :-

The Smiths are moving from New jersey to South Africa. They pack their belongings in rectangular creates and a box to ship the creates across the sea. The creates are made specifically to fit inside the boxcar with their cases facing down. Each create has a base 5m long by 1.5m wide and 2m high. The boxcar is 20m long, 3m wide and 4m high. How many creates can the smiths fit into one boxcar?

Solutión :-

The boxcars and creates are in the shape of a cuboid.

To find, the number of creates that can fit into one boxcar = Volume of 1 boxcar/Volume of 1 create

~Volume of boxcar = Volume of cuboid

• Volume of cuboid = L x B x H

= 20 x 3 x 4

= 250m^3

~Volume of create = Volume of cuboid

• Volume of cuboid = L x B x H

= 5 x 1.5 x 2

= 15m^2

No. of creates in boxcar = 250/15

= 16.

Therefore, 16 creates can be fitted in one boxcar.
