(a) cost of 12 bananas = Rs 60

  • so cost of 1 banana is 60/12= Rs 5
  • therefore cost of 8 bananas = 8 X 5
  • = Rs 40

(b) cost of 5kg rice = rs 130

  • so cost of 1kg rice = 130/5 = Rs 26
  • therefore cost of 24kg rice = 26 X 24
  • = Rs 624

(c) cost of 15 postcards = Rs 15.30

  • so cost of 1 postcard = 15.30/15 = Rs 1.02
  • therefore cost of 18 postcard = 1.02 X 18
  • = Rs 18.36

(d) distance flied in 4 hrs = 6000 Kms

  • distance flied in 1hrs = 6000/4= 1500 Kms
  • therefore distance flied in 6 hrs = 1500 X 6= 9000kms

(e) cost of 15 envelopes= Rs 45

  • cost of 1 envelope = 45/15= Rs 3
  • therefore envelops that can be bought for Rs 100
  • = 100/3= 33.333 or 33 envelopes
