Question : I said to her, "Do you really belong to Kashmir?" ( Change into Indirect Speech )

Answer : I asked her if she really belonged to Kashmir.

Rules :

  • To change the Narration for Interrogative Sentences, the sentence must be changed into an Assertive Sentence.
  • We will replace "say", "tell" etc with "ask", "enquire of" and in some cases with "want to know".
  • "Whether" or "If" is to be used as Introductory Conjunction.
  • We will use a full stop in the end of Indirect Speech.
  • Since the Reported Speech is in Present Indefinite Tense, it will be changed into Past Indefinite Tense as the Reporting Verb is in Past Tense itself.
