■☆■ I saw this one question .
"Is common salt and marble powder a heterogeneous or homogeneous mixture?"
i couldn't answer it there so i am answering now .

● dear the question is incorrect.
"Common salt is not a mixture ,it is a compound. and marble powder is a solid waste material formed during the production of marble.

● Common salt is a compound as it is formed when we chemically combine the elements of Sodium(Na) and Chlorine (Cl) .Mixtures are formed when element are not chemically combined. Also ,the original properties of elements change when they are combined as compounds while with mixtures, elements keep their original properties. Like chlorine is a gas and sodium is reactive to vinegar while Salt(NaCl ) their combination, is neither a gas ,nor reactive to vinegar. For example, when you mix fruits in a salad ,they keep their original properties. you can taste them .Apple is sweet and orange is sour ,Apple doesn't turn bitter neither the orange salty . Also to separate compounds you need a chemical reaction but with mixtures you can separate them without a chemical reaction . You can't just separate choline and sodium from slat as you can separate apple from banana slices. So ,common slat is not a mixture. It is a compound.

● as for marble powder, It is a waste product formed during production of marble. If chemically seen ,it is a compound. Its chemical formula is CaCo3,formed by three elements Calcium (Ca),carbon(C) and oxygen (O) . Its elements loose theirs original properties when combined and you cannot separate the elements by just braking the marble or by filtration, distillation, sublimation or paper chromatography, etc .you need a chemical reaction. So ,marble powder is a compound because it is a waste material or powder of marble.
●so both of these are not mixtures, they are compounds .
●This question is incorrect dear .plz tell you teacher or whoever asked the question that the question us incorrect.
●Hope this helped .If you need more help you can always contact me. hope you understood and get nice graded .Good luck if it is a test .
