Answer:

I sold two mobile phones rs21600 each on one I had a gain of 8% and on the other I suffered a lose of 10%. The overall  loss percent in the whole transaction is 1.81%.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given S P = 21600

% gain = 8%

Selling price =[1 +8/100] \times C.P

21600 =[(100+8)/100]  \times C.P.

21600 = 108/100  \times  C.P.

CP = 21600  \times 100/108

C.P. =Rs.  20000

lose of 10%

Selling price =[1−10/100] \times C.P

21600 =(100 - 10)/100  \times  C.P

21600 =90/100  \times C.P

C.P. =21600  \times  100/90

=24000

Total cost price =20000+24000 =44000

Total selling price =21600 +21600=43,200

Here CP> SP

Loss = 44000 - 43200 = 800

% loss = (Loss \times 100) / C.P

% loss = (Loss \times 100) / C.P

= (800 \times 100)/44000

= 1.81 percent
