Given question -:

1.An old bicycle was purchased for rupees 2500 and sold at a loss of 15 percent. Find the selling price?

let's try to solve the question

let the cost price of bicycle be ₹100

then selling price of bicycle at 15% loss=

100 -100 × 15 /100 = 100 -15 = ₹ 85

now

cost price selling price

100 85

2500 x

by cross multiplication

x = 85×2500/100

x = ₹2125

Hence selling price of bicycle is ₹2125

Hope this will help you....
